Sparks Theatrical Hire is thrilled to announce it has been awarded a grant from the second round of the Government’s Culture Recovery Fund!
Sparks is among more than 2,700 recipients to benefit from the latest round of awards from the £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund.
Paul Anderson, the company’s founder and managing director says “This life line came just in time; with virtually no income for the last twelve months; our landlords demanding full rent, and our council offering no reduction in rates whatsoever, we were close to calling it a day. We managed to keep all our loyal staff, but topping up their Furlough pay was another added expense, but one which I passionately thought was the right thing to do as they have worked for the company for over 20 years. The money will contribute towards our overheads going forward, whilst we wait for the industry to return to full operational status. It will also enable us to employ our fantastic freelancers, many of whom have missed out on any support throughout the pandemic.”
“I’m so grateful that the Government listened and understood our situation, and offered us this vital lifeline, which in turn will ensure we can go on supporting many fantastic creative projects in the coming months”.
